BIO OF LIL-C (CEO OF KOUNTRY RECORDS, INC.)
Hi, I’m Lil-C da CEO of Kountry Records, Inc. I’m from Saint Francisville, Louisiana-a small town about 20 minutes north of Baton Rouge, La, but I represent the entire state of Louisiana. I incorporated Kountry Records in 1998 and signed myself as well as 3 of my homies to the label. Our group was called Kountry Click (The Original Kountry Boyz). We recorded a single entitled, “I’m Gone” and took it to the radio station. Shortly after being aired on Max 94.1’s “Make it Or Break it” the aforementioned song became a local #1 hit and received spins on several radio stations in the state. In 1998 No Limit Records was by far the hottest label in the Country, but in Baton Rouge, they were 2nd to Kountry Records. We’ve opened up for No Limit as well as Cash Money Records, and “I’m Gone” was in heavy rotation on Max 94.1 and Q95.5 in Lafayette.
In 1999 I recorded my 1st solo project which was a maxi-single entitled, “Eyes On da Prize (an excerpt from Ghetto Realism)”. The titled track started to receive spins, but shortly after, I caught a Fed case and ended up serving 9 years and 4 months flat. I was officially released on October 15th, 2008 and on November 15th, 2008 I sponsored my 1st concert since my release called, “The Return of Kountry Records Da Movement Jam” starring: Myself, Nussie of Dope Celebrity Records, Max 94.1, and aspiring model/exotic dancer Stone Kold Foxx &
friends. On November 17th, 2008 my new single, “4 My Jiggalators” was aired on Max 94.1’s “Bump It or Dump It” and in November and December of 2008 the song received at least 14 spins/week.
Now, nine months after being released, I''m preparing to release my 1st debut album entitled, "Dippin Da Dumb Way". The album is full of collaborations as well as production from some of Louisiana’s hottest producers, such as Shonta from Shonta Productions, who produced the track, "Dip" (the lead single of my album). Dip is receiving spins on 3 stations right now in 3 different states (WQUE-New Orleans, WJMI-Jackson MS, & KBLZ-Tyler TX). The stations (WJZD-Biloxi MS, KBTT-Shreveport LA, and WEMX-Baton Rouge) have showed interest in supporting the record and will most likely premier the single in the coming days. I have been a myspace member since 5/29/2008 and as of 7/01/2009 I have 5,527 profile views and I''m ranked #1 on myspace within 10 miles of my postal code. Keep in mind, I''ve only been home 9 months.
