The debut album, The Process- Work Unfinished, which will be released in May 2009, is one of the best and greatest accomplishments of A. Jermaine and Ascension. “We started recording the project in a basement of a home and ended up at one of the nations best recording studios, Larry Gold’s The Studio located in Philadelphia”, said Anthony Nixon, founder of A. Jermaine and Ascension. “During The Process, I have lost some people and gained new people. I have learned that if I don’t push the hardest than I can’t expect anyone else to push either.”
Twenty six year old Anthony Nixon, best known as A. Jermaine, has been making footprints in the music industry for many years now. Born and raised in the church, he has been blessed with the music talents and gifts of writing, singing, teaching and playing music. Soon to be college graduate, A. Jermaine has done everything from facilitating vocal workshops to volunteering with the Word Foundation-a community outreach organization.
In 2004, A. Jermaine founded A. Jermaine and Ascension, which consists of close family and friends. Since their existence, they have opened their rehearsals to the public to view and witness. Not only has A. Jermaine and Ascension attracted the body of Christ within the church but they have also attracted many people from outside the walls of the church. Ascension has provided alternatives so that people may gather to participate in good fun such as bowling and movie nights, fundraiser and benefit
Since 2004, A. Jermaine has played for great recording artists such as Karen Clark-Sheard, Maurette Brown-Clark, Marvin Sapp, Juanita Bynum, Norman Hutchins and Kirk Franklin. Recently, A. Jermaine has also written a song that has been recorded on the upcoming project from the Reverend Ernest Davis Jr. Wilmington Chester Mass Choir.
As for Ascension? You can find Ascension traveling up and down the East Coast with highlighted performances in New York City, Maryland, and Virginia. Turn on the television and you may catch a glimpse of the live taping as A. Jermaine and Ascension shared the stage with Tye Tribbett and GA. on the Trinity Broadcasting Network or a taping for the Word Network.
