THE RIZE - On February 20th, 1977 a supernova was born. Birth name Di''Jon Berkley Finney A.K.A Prestigiouz A.K.A Prestige was born to Ms. Johnsie Finney and Mr. Thomas Lloyd at Mercer Hospital in Aurora, Illinois (a suburb outside of Chicago, Iliinois). Prestigiouz is the eldest of three (one sister and one brother) out of his mother''s children and the middle child of five (two brothers and two sisters) out of his father''s children. As a toddler Prestigiouz would assist his father (who was a local disc jockey for local events or parties) by cleaning turn tables and keeping up with vinyls. Thus introducing Prestigiouz to the hip hop culture. By age nine after a split between his parents, Prestigiouz had moved to Virginia and was hungry to get into the music industry. Willing to do whatever it takes Prestigiouz started b-boying with his older cousins as their under study. Prestigiouz learned by watching (how to entertain and keep the crowd energized) first hand through his cousins'' b-boying group (The X-Men) at numerous local talent shows. Star driven it wasn''t until Prestigiouz had watched a video on Rap City (Rakim''s I Ain''t No Joke) that sparked the notion of him becoming an emcee or m.c.. Intrigued by the art form Prestigiouz then picked up the microphone. THE FALL- From 1989 to 1993, Prestigiouz spent thousands and thousands of hours practicing and homing his skills, trying to be the best. Prestigiouz would freestyle battle in his high school hallways, neighborhood corners, and on basketball playgrounds to get his name out there or to be heard. It wasn''t until the summer of 93'' after destroying another unworthy opponent that his talent was noticed by a local disc jockey/producer named Derek Hodge A.K.A Big D A.K.A Big Derek. Big D introduced Prestigiouz to the studio atmosphere. Big D looked at Prestigiouz as his protege and Big D loved and revered Prestigiouz craft. By working with his first professional producer, Prestigiouz learned how to turn his fifty-six bars freestyle into a sixteen bar rhyme form song, complete with hooks and bridges. After months of preparation a demo was released for Prestigiouz and many shows followed. By 1995, Prestigiouz music was on a downward spiral, forcing the emcee or m.c. to make a decision between the military as his career or his music. Being a G.E.D graduate, college could have been, but wasn''t an option. Frustrated by all of his short comings Prestigiouz chose to join the military in November 1996 after being homeless for a year and a half. At the age of twenty Prestigiouz for the first time in his life, had no involvement with music. THE BOUNCE BACK- After a seven year hiatus and fresh off a discharge from the military with the help of two childhood friends (VA Semi Auto and Fth) , Prestigiouz returned to the booth , more determined and started work on his long anticipated debut. The underground project titled The Most Hated hit the streets in the summer of 2004 and was well accepted, selling over 2,500 units within a one hundred mile radius. Buzz created the three (Fth, Prestigiouz, and VA Semi Auto) entrepreneurs started an indie label called All Weatha Entertainment. Since 2006 All Weatha Entertainment has compiled a well respected resume including an abundance of mixtapes that All Weatha Entertainment has produced and recorded themselves, guest features on other artist projects, an appearance on NBA Ballers (video game), and songs that have gotten radio airplay via the internet and local radio stations. The future looks very promising for Prestigiouz after inking a digital release (singles) deal with Feed That Baby Records , (2) two singles "Won''t Go Away" and "I Am The Block" scheduled to be released April 20th, 2009 via ITunes, https://www.tradebit.com, and Rhapsody. Staying consistent and never giving up on his "day job", the hard work will eventually pay off and has been paying off. Prestigiouz thrives off being the under dog and has resurrected from adversity/hardship that was presented to him. Hip hop has been Prestigiouz crutch, in his heart, and flows through his veins. Prestigiouz was honestly born to do this- PERIOD.
