Travis and James met in high school. Kyle was already a local legend at that point. James was apprehensive about starting a band with Travis because Travis had crazy long hair and drove a shitty van. Travis partied too much and pretended he was gay. They began to play music together about 1998. At first James wanted to quit because irregular meter made his foot tap funny. They played college parties and ethnic bars. They recorded an album onto VCR tapes, which was the style in those days. James moved and they threw the VCR tapes away. Kyle got married, Travis got engaged. Then one day James came back because found a job on an ostrich ranch. An informal meeting was held and THE GIANT SQUID SHOW formed again. A new recording has been released like white doves from a rusty cage.
