Details:
Singer/songwriter Bob Carty grew up in the coal camps of
Pike County, Kentucky listening to live bluegrass behind
the company store, The Doors on the radio and Porter
Waggoner on tv.
His musical dues were paid doing covers on bass
(Songwriter''s Hell ) in an Elvis tribute band,
barnstorming accross the country with a circus and
fronting the seemingly cursed Johnson City, TN
powerbilly trio "The Cruel Brothers" before going solo
and acoustic from Myrtle Beach, S.C. to Detroit, MI.
armed only with a guitar and a fishbowl!
Bob''s new CD, " CHILLBILLY " recorded at Da House Studio
in Ringgold, GA , is a
showcase of Bob''s songs of work, immigration, family,
love and betrayal.
From the warm reflections of "Drawn To You" to the icy
psychobilly confessional "My Trouble is Gone", Bob''s
honest vocals and East Kentucky attitude leave no doubt
that he has lived it all.
His vocal style has been compared to Chris Knight,Shawn
Mullins and Johnny Cash. His favorite songwriters
include Townes Van Zant, Steve Earle and Elvis Costello.
Of a personal note, Bob''s favorite drink is tequila and
lemonade. He likes rodeos and dusty pawn shops. His
favorite color is brindle. He loves hole in the wall
Bar-B-Que joints and old black and white movies.
Bob now plays small venues from Atlanta to Knoxville .
