BLENDRE (pronounced blender just like the appliance) is an original music-playing group of three musicians from the New York City area. Not quite the Stooges, not quite the Beatles but definitely touched by both bands. Three different personalities drawing from the same energy of the pure rock and roll/ garage bands of the 60s and 70s have come up with a sound of their own. The results are catchy songs that sound familiar, yet very alien. All of this topped off with lyrics that have a point of view, makes Blendre, a band with a vision. Blendre''s goal is to play anywhere, anytime, to bring their vibe to as wide an audience as possible.
Where does a band come from? From a common interest? From the desire to be heard? From a need to meet girls? From the fear of having to grow up? From the hate of having to work at a job that manages to drain the life source out of your essence a little bit more and more each day?
Nah, a band comes from the music that''s erupting from the soul of it''s members!
Life long friends, John (singer/songwriter) and Ed (drummer) decided to merge their talents and form a band. A band that would not be constricted by the limitations of conventional imagination. A band where their diversified and unique visions and influences could blend resulting with a new, possibly repulsive yet refreshing sound. A sound that reflected each member''s uniqueness.
To complete this antithesis of musical inbreeding, a final ingredient was needed, another member. After an exhaustive two and a half year search, through the internet grapevine, a guitarist was found, Jason. Coming from a world of his own, he couldn''t have been more perfect. His tasteful and effective ear with his instrument was the final thrust needed to send Blendre out of the proverbial birth canal.
