Blackburst is a progressive rock / metal band based in Cincinnati, OH. Formed in 1999, the members came together out of a common love for heavy, riff-based rock music. Through the years the band''s music has taken on a more adventurous, yet still melodic, edge that is apparent on the sophomore effort A Slight Change in Pressure, released in August 2005.
The band has played numerous shows throughout the Cincinnati area since they began gigging in 2000. After a lineup change or two, and the release of the debut album Mindsweep in 2001, the band started to develop a core sound that embraces not only metal and progressive rock but also elements of pop, jazz, blues and funk.
