Details:
Only four songs. But they are more than enough to see the potential of
MantriKa. After their first Ep published in 2007, Dorian, the group led by
Marco Bonvicini returns with their latest offering: Premonizioni.
There are several elements that combine to forge the sound of MantriKa:
jagged guitars, typical of classic rock, catchy pop tunes and touches of
electronics here and there. Everything is illuminated by the the power
remarkable extension of the singer''s voice. We mind a sound like a Jeff
Buckley sometimes, Porcupine Tree or Timoria, an italian band.
Each song is dynamic, contrasting both hard and soft touches, like the
title track. The best example of this is "Regina del Palco" (the video is
contained EP), thanks to a rapid and charp guitar riff like an electric
shock.
The last two tracks, Linfa Candida and Venere are slower and slightly more
distressing, with disorientating and disturbing electronic effects used to
great effect.
