The album is nothing short of a sock to the gut, and is anything but somber. The title? It was a happenstance snapshot of lead singer, Jenna Slate, at Scorpion Gulch. An evening gown, an abandoned well, and a stormy backdrop lent way. “It felt like a somber eve, and it inspired the intro music to the title track,” explains Slate.
Combining the heavy with the beautiful was exactly what this album wanted to capture. And capture that, the album certainly did.
