Featuring the brother guitar tandem/songwriting team of Jason and Shaun Vanek, Cleveland, Ohio’s ETERNAL LEGACY is the youngest band on the vaunted Auburn roster (Destructor, Breaker, Shok Paris, amongst others, including Wretch, who recently contributed bassist Tim Frederick).
Lifeless Alive is a well thought out successor to their ’07 full length debut (The Coming Of The Tempest), the band using the time between releases to hone the sound, both onstage and in the studio. “This album has more attitude and power, in a heavier, more polished direction with less keyboards”, offers lead guitarist Shaun Vanek. “It’s a good mix of driving, dark metal with killer melodies and a heavier edge than our debut. The sound of Legacy is born!”
Part of the music’s maturation process included a trip to Germany, playing the 2007 Headbangers Open Air festival and receiving instant feedback from some of the underground metal community’s harshest critics.
The album’s bonus track, “The Dead Matter”, was written for The Dead Matter horror film produced by Cleveland-based Midnight Syndicate Films and includes dialogue from the movie. The movie stars Andrew Divoff ("Lost", "Wishmaster"), Jason Carter ("Babylon 5", "Angel") and horror legend Tom Savini ("Dawn Of The Dead", "Lost Boys 2").
The group has been confirmed for this year''s edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 5-7, 2010 in Wacken, Germany.
Eternal Legacy was nominated for the "Best Metal Band" award in Cleveland Scene magazine''s annual "Cleveland Music Awards 2010".
Lifeless Alive has already received positive pre-release reviews from Germany’s Heavy magazine (charting in the Top 10 of their Soundcheck issue 127 feature with an 8.6 rating), https://www.tradebit.com and Metal Covenant (9/10).
