Kelvin Parker has a long history in the music arena. He''s been ministering instrumentally and vocally for many years, having received the call to play as a young child. He has also been writing music for several years. The Gospel Music Workshop of America Youth Choir recorded two of his songs, "You Must Be Born Again" in 1997 and "He Didn''t Have to Do It" in 2000. Kelvin graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his bachelor''s degree in music.
Kelvin formed All About Christ in 1998 and began working diligently with them to complete "Surrender." Lead vocalists, who are also family members, include his mother Mamie "Tina" Parker, brother Caley Parker Jr., sister Carla Salter, and cousins, Vincent Parker and Joycelyn Gunn.
"Surrender" is Kelvin''s first published CD that showcases songs that are all written by him. The songs include accompaniment from jazz guitarist Eric Essix, Kevin Turner, bassist Sean Ray, as well as musical contributions from Melvin "Jay" Terry, Cameron Sankey, Kelly O''Neal, David Smith, Jeff Perry, and Darrell Tibbs.
Kelvin has a treasure trove of music he has been writing throughout the years. Expect to hear much more music from him in the future. But in the meantime, enjoy this CD that was truly ministered to him from God.
