Influenced by the music they grew up on and acting on a passion for the blending of crunchy guitars, pretty melodies, experimental noise, and dynamic drumming, four Seattle musicians got together in the fall of 2007 to form the alternative rock and roll band known as Olympus. Within a week of their formation, Olympus began playing shows, and since have played in Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Bellingham, Washington. Over the first two years of their existence they have become known for both their high energy, spontaneous live shows as well as their striking ability to write melodic and tasteful pop songs.
Their debut full length, Big Echo, was recorded from January – November, 2009 at Foundry Studios in Seattle. The record aims to capture the raw, live energy of the band through a production lens that artistically captures the songs’ intricate hooks and dynamics.
