Details:
Jazz writer, Keiichi Konishi wrote the album review "Kinue Shima, she loves and cherishes jazz truly. She has made jazz more open-minded toward the new age".

Arranged and produced by Billy Mitchel. Nori Iji (Bass), Quentin Dennard (Drums), Tom Manasian (Engineer, Grammy Nominator). Recorded in Los Angels, US. in 2009.

Kinue Shima, born in Tokyo, lived in London in her little childhood. Typical Aquarius.
She started playing keyboard (Yamaha Electone) at the age 12. At that time, Electone was popular among girls around her in Japan. She practiced lots of tunes crossing over genres and taste of music, ex. Popular, Screen, Classic, Latin, Jazz, Fusion, R&B, J-pops, etc. Besides her student life in university, she went to Conservatoir Shobi (Tokyo, school has changed its name now) and took three year course for foundation of music.

In her early twenties, she played music for wedding parties and had students to teach music for a while. Sometime she composed music for indies films and made many popular songs with friend who became a real poem writer, Miya.

While she kept playing music on and off, she got much interest in mind and spirits of Life.
After studying and practicing years, she opened up own business in therapy and healing (Shima Hypno Solution Inc.). In the wave spiritual boom in Japan, she got too many clients all over the country, trained professional therapists(counselor, hypnotherapist, etc), and brought out audio therapy programs to iTunes store (over 50 titles now).
Possibly she was overworking and something inside of her began to look for her “my true voice”. “I did feel it seriously, I needed to know my true honest voice somewhere from Me”. She took several singing lessons in Japan, but still in the clue. Then she flew to London to look for proper lessons and to meet real vocal coaches. Fortunately, she met good tutors and singers, such as Anita Wardell, Liane Carroll, Miguel Manzo, Claire Martin, Judy Niemack, etc. Lots of jazz workshops in Europe, NY Hudson, and sessions supported her singing and at this point of her life, she dig her own voice out from heart. One of unique approaches was voice healing by Chris James. Still in the mystery, but it might work amazingly.
