Details:
After his 1998 cassette EP sold out its initial production run in one week, Samaha knew he had tapped into a stylistic niche that people liked. For his full-length CD debut, he assembled a core of talented musicians and got to work producing and recording the album himself. From the opening bounce and fun of Bonny Lass, to the brooding evil of Something''s Under the Bed, to the heartbreaking beauty of Goodnight, it''s the kind of album that you listen to all the way through.
Samaha''s music is an eclectic mix of styles and genres that, in these musicians'' capable hands, makes perfect sense. Heavy metal, traditional Irish tunes, folk rock, solo acoustic guitar, and a strong Middle Eastern influence... it all comes together here. The music is instrumental, with guitars, violins, and cellos carrying the infectious and sing-along melodies.
The 1999 release of Lucky Best sold out long ago, and Samaha is happy to finally make it available again in the digital age.
