Singing since a child, Pastor Smith was renown for singing “Goin’ Up Yonder” under the direction of her sister Evangelist Gloria Newsome. Pastor Sharon has also performed as a two-time finalist in the McDonald’s Gospelfest at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ and at the Performing Arts Center in Rahway, NJ.
Born to the late Bishop J. H. Roberts and the late Mother Ruth I. Smith, Pastor Smith has a host of brothers, sisters, adopted children and grandchildren. She is a life-long partner of Living Waters Ministries Worldwide Inc. ( formerly Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C. ) in Newark, NJ where she has served as: Sunday School teacher, District Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Director, Assistant Pastor, and presently as Executive Pastor. She has also volunteered with: American Red Cross, United Way, Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, Goodwill Home & Rescue Missions and Integrity House Inc.
Pastor Sharon Smith has given her home and hospitality to the homeless. She has visited the sick. and those in prison. She has comforted the broken-hearted and has been a friend to countless people. And now Pastor Sharon D. Smith continues in her legacy of human service with the release of her debut CD recording: Redeemed!
