Love Retaliation is a spectrum of styles and experiences reflected in the songs which offer a positive message in the face of adversity with the wonderful anthem that’s a vision of world peace in ‘Someday’ but also pays homage to our rock n roll greats with the retro feel of When Rock Was On a Roll, through to the country ballad ‘Connected By A Broken Heart’. This album manages to capture so many moods and blend them seamlessly into a voyage of discovery that can be listened to over and over while remaining fresh. By creating a musical journey that is both timely and timeless, Rick Caballo has managed to do just that.
The 10-track CD is a blend of country and southern rock and also features the inspirational ballad Midnight River, a touch of flamenco on Mi Amor (a testament to his Spanish heritage), plus rocked-up anthems Something You’re Gonna Miss and Love Retaliation. Caballo also takes a trip to the dark side of town on Black Jezebel Road.
His experience co-writing with respected Nashville songwriter Bill DiLuigi and working with producers Carl Jackson and Duane Sciacqua has been life-changing on both a personal and professional level.
Love Retaliation was produced by Duane Sciaqua ,who has worked with Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Rodney Atkins and boasts the use of some of the best musicians Nashville has to offer including:
