Details:
Currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, Donn Aaron grew up playing in loud rock bands in Pensacola, FL, home of UFO''s and hurricanes. While still in his early teens, Donn was considered one of the premier lead guitarists on the eastern hard rock club circuit. Donn was featured in “Guitar Player” & “Guitar World” magazines while touring the east coast for three years right out of high school. In 1991, Donn was the lead guitarist and co-songwriter for the RCA/Silvertone recording group "Mary My Hope”. Until the mid 1990''s, he continued touring and recording with "Mary My Hope”. Live shows during that time included opening slots for "Smashing Pumpkins" and the Lollapalooza festival. From 1994-1997, Donn was a major contributor to the acclaimed band "The Ellen James Society" whose album "The Survivors Parade" was touted by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top ten independent releases of the year. In early 2003, Jim Beam Bourbon awarded Donn a monetary grant through their national Benefiting Emerging Artists and Musicians (B.E.A.M.) program. His music was chosen for the grant by a voting panel that included “Matthew Sweet” & “Pat DiNizio” (Smithereens). In the last six years, Donn has worked as the house digital editor for one of Atlanta''s most popular mastering studios. He has creatively edited over 5,000 records and has received multiple platinum and gold certification awards from the RIAA. Donn has also played guitar with Capitol Records "Aslyn" and pedal steel with James Hall from the Geffen Records group Pleasure Club. He has recorded guitar with Ludacris on a track that was featured in the Martin Lawrence motion picture “National Security”. The 2005 Lion''s Gate distributed horror movie "Motor Home Massacre" features the track "Hey" from "Unfinished Symphonies". In November 2005, "Unfinished Symphonies" was chosen by Performing Songwriter magazine as one of their "Top 12 Independent Releases" and featured the track "Funny" on their website for the duration of the issue (2 months). "Unfinished Symphonies" is an exquisite collection of weighty lyrics and beautifully presented arrangements featuring acoustic guitar, mandolin and cello.
