Barak Hill and Joel Lamm grew up playing music together. Bands and albums and musical plans have always been discussed, but have stayed small, or fizzled out before they really started. It’s easy to blame the long distance between Springfield, Missouri and Houston, Texas when life gets in the way. But the two cousins have always been able to bring it all together for a one-off show, or a late night recording session that finds it’s home on CDs distributed among friends and fans that (somehow) haven’t lost interest.
2009 found Barak and Joel with a lot of free time. Several trips back and forth between Springfield and Houston, two or three spur of the moment gigs, and life throwing inspiration hard, like punches at a heavy bag, have all culminated in a batch of new songs. In late 2009, Barak and Joel formed The Winter Beards and recorded their first full length album, Morning''s Gone.
