Details:
“Miss Emily Brown has accomplished a feat of marrying history and plain old-fashioned story telling into a compelling and delicately assembled package of distinctive folk-pop ear candies.
In Technicolor is a genuinely impressive achievement.”
- Amanda Putz, CBC Radio One

Miss Brown’s second album In Technicolor, released January 18, 2010 features songs written during her Canada Council for the Arts sponsored songwriting project that explores her grandmother Leanora’s journal from World War II. Leanora was a stenographer with the Canadian Women''s Army Corps and started the journal in January 1945 to keep track of her correspondence with her newly wed husband Eddie, an aircraft fitter. Songs premiered on November 5, 2009 on CBC Bandwidth’s Remembrance Day show with Amanda Putz and with a week of live performances in Via Rail train cars in October 2009 between Vancouver and Toronto.

In Technicolor follows Miss Brown''s debut release, Part of You Pours Out of Me, which was named one of the top ten albums of 2008 by Alan Neal. Part of You - part of which was recorded in Jeremy Fisher’s living room - caught the ear of music enthusiasts around the world, earning her feature appearances on CBC Canada Live and CBC Canada NEXT as well as opening sets with Vetiver, Mother Mother and The Old Ceremony. Miss Brown is also a lead singer and writer for the newly formed group Morlove, a collaboration with West Coast producer Corwin Fox. Morlove will release its debut album All of My Lakes Lay Frozen Over in February 2010.

Emily plays almost all of the instruments on this record (keys, flugelhorn, autoharp, guitar, vocals, percussion) with additional audio sculpting and drum machines by Corwin Fox, vocals by Nikole Texidor and fiddle by Hannah Epperson.
