Details:
Bybee D. James was raised (along with other notible musicians) , in Oak Cliff Texas. Her love for the arts began at an early age. Her first performance on stage before an audience was dancing at the age of three. Her love for ballet was superceded only be her love for music, poetry and lyrics when she started playing the keyboards at age ten.

Of course she grew up singing with the music that filled her home, and it was quite a variety. Maternal influences were Ray Charles, Peggy Lee, to Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino. Paternal were more of the likes of Merle Haggard, Mac Wiseman and southern gospel. This explains the wide range of music appreciation. She may have a Wagner CD, Tony Rice, Allman Bros, Buck Owens and Doyle Bramhall ll in her car all at the same time.

Over the years of her early life, she was a wedding/funeral/benefit/private party player and singer. She later picked up guitar, learning by ear. Her talent was voluntarily placed on the back burner to raise her two sons. Casey James and Billy Cole James who are both exceedingly talented musicians and songwriters. The younger plays guitar and mandolin on the CD and back-up vocals. He takes the lead role on the last track singing a gospel song that he learned from his mother as a child.

Bybee worked her way through college as a single Mom. As a registered nurse, she has gleaned from her days and nights working with joy and sorrow. These people and her experiences can be heard in her heartfelt material. Over the last 15 years she has primarily performed in a supporting role - playing guitar and keyboards, and singing back-up for various Texas artists.

So now, Bybee D. James ,known as Debra to her family and friends (she adopted her deceased mother''s name in tribute) has released her debut CD intitled "Cross That Line". Good things happen to those who wait.
