It''s taken a long time-25 years-for me to come back to an essential truth in making music: It''s about people. And their love for creating beauty.
I''m a slow learner. But the rediscovery of this community has been my "safe haven" over the last few years. The poignancy of sharing a common love, occasional tears, and most importantly, the laughter, overshadows all other reasons for setting out on a musical journey.
The fact that in the end you get a CD out of it is icing on the cake. What I''ll remember are all the moment in making it.
A "passerelle" is a bridge. Bridges sometimes provide a way out of "here". Sometimes a path to something better. Or maybe just a way to get across the river where there''s a better bar.
This one joins extraordinarily talented singers, players, arrangers, and engineers. They are what you will hear inside this CD. I want to say thanks to everyone who has taken part in this album. It''s as much yours as it is mine.
