Weekend Train was recorded at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton Ontario in Feb 2010. Bob Doige produced and mixed the CD and Amy King was the engineer. Mostly written by Steve Fenton, it also includes works by Phill Botting, Bob Doidge and Amy King. This CD includes a song with backing vocals by Canadian Opera Company member Laura Klassen and budding artist Andrea Fenton. This is an ecclectic mix of folk, pop, and with solid orchestration. There is a solid Christian based theme running through several of the songs, however, some songs are simply pretty love songs that were written from a Christian perspective yet suit the mainstream radio market. Our lead singer Phill Botting, won CMT''s Karaoke Star in 2008 so some of the music has a solid country sound. We also discovered however, during the recording process that Phill''s voice is magical for contemporary power ballads and folk rich acoustic guitar themes. You should consider purchasing this actual CD as if you like one song on it, odds are you will like all or most of the tracks. With our first major conert at Hamilton Place a resounding success and in our short termed past, we are now working towards radio play throughout Canada and the US market. At the time of this writing, we have had our song "Our Soldier''s Home" from this CD played on several stations in Canada. The main writer was discussing with Bob Doidge the methodology suggested to selecting the first song on the CD. Bob recommended putting your strongest song at the front. The song Jupiter written by Bob Doidge was selected as our first song and was entirely written mixed and engineered by Bob with Phill singing the lead vocal only. bob also played all instruments and sang all backups on this selection. The reader of this message should consider purchasing Bob Doidge''s CD Orion''s Ghost as well and you are able to hear Bob''s handiwork and style as a producer come through on many of his other produced recordings through the process of listening to Bob''s original works.
