Crank it up!!
**Stock Cars & Choppers**

The first track on this disc “Wheels with Fi-yer” was inspired by the “Need for Speed” in Stock Car Racing! The catalyst for this album came from the legendary days of “Thunder Road” when Moon shiners roared down the back roads of the old South and throughout Appalachia. If not for the Moon Shine Haulers we would not have organized Stock Car Racing of today! “Thunder Road” is where Stock Car Racing got its start, a fact that some organizations would like to forget!
The other influence for this album comes from the
wind in your face joy and excitement of Motorcycling!
These songs written by Tom Morris, are a living testament to his experiences growing up around Stock Car Racing in the Moonshine Country of Tennessee and the biker legends he met on the road!
The six Band members of 3-UP share a common bond in their love for Music, Stock Cars, and Motorcycles! In these Southern Rock ballads, 3-UP captures the feel and excitement of Stock Car Racing and the Open Road on two wheels! Ride along as 3-UP takes a journey down “Thunder Road” in “Wheels with Fi-yer” and be amused at how a dude and his babe make use of a motorcycle to get it on, in “Rock my Throttle”!
The selections on “Crank it up!” speak to the minds, hearts, and souls of all who feel “The Need for Speed”!
Take a ride back to the 50’s on “Buddy’s 53/74”.
“Randolph Scott’s Bright Light”, the story of Randy Scott of Hardwick Minnesota who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2003.
Take a road trip from Wyoming down to Tucson to find a biker buddy, “Mad Dog” a saga in the life of a Vietnam Vet.
The 1930’s Ebony Girl, Bessie Stringfield is the
“Miami Motorcycle Queen”!

Bessie Stringfield, “You were something else”.
Two of the 3-UP band members personally knew Country Legend Willie Nelson when Willie first started his brilliant career in Portland Oregon. Don & Larry Simmons made Willie’s aquaintence through their dad,West Coast Country Legend Buddy Simmons, thus providing the story line for “Willie Left Cindy”.
Harley-Davidson Motorcycles are a permanent part of American Motorcycle Culture known around the world! Designer, Willie G. Davidson, of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, earned the admiration and respect of many Harley loyalist for his contributions in the design of today’s “Harleys”! As a tribute to Willie G. Davidson, Tom Morris wrote, “Thank the Lord and Willie G.”
The only selection on this album, not dedicated to motor sports is a song titled “Who I Am”! Tom wrote this song for his wife Mary K. who has faithfully stood beside him through the years! The song is Tom’s acknowledgement of his Love and Respect for Mary K who he affectionately calls “ My Buddy”!
A small town in Southwestern South Dakota called Edgemont lies at the edge of the Southern Black Hills. “Gus’s Panhead” is a ballad of an old biker and his long forgotten motorcycle shop in this sleepy little prairie town. There may be a surprise or two in store for a discerning listener!
If you are ever through Sheridan, Wyoming you must stop at the “Beaver Creek Saloon”, Ask any of the girls around about the Iron Horse Cowboy from Montana who stopped in one night on his way to Sturgis finding more than he bargained for.

The band members of 3-UP wish all of those who feel “The Need for Speed” and those who ride their bikes into the wind many adrenalin filled days and nights in the pursuit of their destiny!!
