Arlette was born in the beautiful island of Trinidad. She started singing in her church choir as a child and continued into her teen years, eventually starting her own singing group which performed at various talent shows, and social events. She was also recruited as a back-up singer for one of the most popular singers on the island. But Arlette has always been a strong believer in the importance of education, coming from a family in which both parents are teachers. She applied to Long Island University in New York, where she was accepted and awarded a full scholarship based on her SAT scores. Arlette said goodbye to family and friends and headed for the Big Apple.
While studying for her Bachelor''s Degree in Chemistry, to make ends meet Arlette started singing for a wedding band at parties, weddings and clubs throughout New York. One day, she received a phone call from a young musician from Italy - Luigi. Their encounter would change the course of her life.
Luigi was born and raised in Rome. His entire life has been about music. He was classically trained at the piano from his early childhood, and from age sixteen, he started working as a musician and producer in Italy, with some of the top names in Italian music.
He came to New York in 1994 to explore the opportunities available to him in the music business. He started working as a solo act in piano bars and restaurants throughout New York and New Jersey. By 1995, Luigi was ready to expand, and he began searching for a female singer to work with. Arlette''s contact info was given to him by the owner of one of the clubs that he worked for.
Luigi called Arlette, and the musical connection was immediate. They started to work together as a duo. One year later, the week after Arlette''s graduation, they were married and have been making beautiful music together ever since.
For over ten years, this husband and wife duo has performed continually throughout New York and New Jersey, at venues too countless to mention.
They offer a very diverse repertoire of Italian and American Standards, Adult Contemporary, Pop, R''n''B, Disco, Latin and Italian Folk Music. Their sound merges the elements of two very different cultures into one style that is uniquely Luigi and Arlette.
Everyone who hears them is impressed by the quality of their musicianship and Arlette''s incredible vocal range.
Arlette is also the Official Anthem Singer for the New Jersey Devils Hockey Team, where she effortlessly belts her signature rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner before a crowd of 20,000 at every home game. She has also often performed the Anthem at the home games of the New Jersey Nets Basketball Team.
They have recorded five albums.
The first "Songs in Black and White", features covers of classic hits, and includes the song "Dreaming" which was written by Luigi and Arlette.

The third "We''re on Fire", recorded by Arlette, is dedicated to the New Jersey Devils Hockey Team and made working in close collaboration with their Organization. The title track of this album was written by Luigi and Arlette.
Arlette also released "America Stronger Than Ever" where she sings her favorite American patriotic songs including a song that she and Luigi wrote called "My America" which inspires all Americans to stand together strong and proud, especially in light of the events of September 11th, 2001.
